Space 134 creates a civic park by capping the 134 freeway, connecting the downtown core of Glendale to residential neighborhoods to the north. The park has two distinct parts; the Neighborhood Park and the Downtown Park. The neighborhood park creates a zone for active and passive recreation. The Downtown Park creates the stage for cultural and entertainment programming as well as strong transit connections. The 24 acre park will create a large civic landscape that promoting more active lifestyles, reduces stormwater runoff, enhances air quality and encourages biodiversity for Glendale and the Southern California region.
